Davide Groppi is a high-end Italian lighting design brand, where simplicity, weightlessness, emotion, creative invention, and amazement are the fundamental components of each lamp or lighting project, working with prestigious and international clients and architects and designers. 


Responsibilities


We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) with the responsibility of the South of France.

This role requires a significant amount of networking as well as lead tracking and is not only a sales position. Background in the design, architectural or engineering industry would be preferable.


This job description is not exhaustive in describing all duties and responsibilities required and the BDM is expected to use initiative and identify additional steps required to undertake the role.


Role & Main duties:


• Develop new business enquiries with Interior Designers, Architects, Lighting Designers, Developers, Contractor, Landscape architects, Project Managers and end users.


• The geographical region will primarily be Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.


• Additional regions may be added at a later stage.


• Increase the pipeline, the closing rate and the Win opportunities.


• Provide an initial point of contact for clients and proactively solicit new clients via physical visit, cold calling, networking, LinkedIn, and email.


• Identify and attend networking events, particularly those designers and architects will attend. It is likely that such events will be held in the evenings or out of hours.


• Develop professional relationships with clients throughout the entire process, assisting with the area manager where required.


• Represent the business in a professional manner at all times.


• Prepare presentations to clients.


• Attend monthly management meetings (where required) and prepare reports detailing sales forecast, pipeline and tenders.


• To liaise with the sales team and Commercial Director at all times.


• Keep ‘finger on the pulse’ and manage up to date lead tracking.


• Farm existing client relationships and identify potential missed opportunities.



Your Profile


  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.

    • Previous working experience in lighting sector (ideally 3 years).


• Sales and lighting consulting-design ability would be ideal.


• Be a team player.


• Proficient in English. Italian language would be a  plus.


• Strong social skills.


• To work intuitively and responsibly.


• To be self-driven and self-motivated.


• To be a chameleon – accordingly adapting to the needs, styles and level of clients.


• To be independent, comfortable to attend events & travel independently.


• A strategic thinker and ability to understand the bigger picture.


• Confidence with public speaking.


• Ability to provide high-quality written reports.


This is a role with high exposure to the business, external visibility and interaction with the headquarter in Italy, therefore strong maturity, professionalism and company loyalty are absolutely required.
