Health & Safety Manager - Civil Works (Renewables Plants)

For an international and fast-growing Independent Power Producer (IPP), operating in the renewables industry, we are looking for an H&S Manager.

Responsibilities

The candidate, directly reporting to the Global H&S Director, will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs for PV projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing risks to employees and contractors.

Main responsibilities are:

• Developing and implementing H&S policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to PV construction projects;

• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations;

• Conducting regular reviews and updates of safety programs to ensure effectiveness and relevance;

• Performing risk assessments and identify potential hazards associated with PV construction activities;

• Developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize risks;

• Overseeing the creation and maintenance of site-specific safety plans;

• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine causes and implement corrective actions;

• Maintaining accurate records of all incidents and safety-related activities;

• Preparing and presenting reports on safety performance and trends;

• Conducting regular safety inspections and audits of PV construction sites;

• Identifying and rectifying unsafe conditions or practices;

• Ensuring that all equipment and tools meet safety standards;

• Working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety into all phases of project planning and execution;

• Serving as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters;

• Communicating effectively with all stakeholders, including regulatory authorities.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate should possess the following requirements:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• At least 8 years of H&S experience in civil construction industry, preferably within the renewable energy sector with a focus on the construction of utility-scale PV plants;
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices;
• Ability t o work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously;

• Availability to travel to construction site, mainly in Center-North Italy.

Location: Roma

The final offer will be commensurated to the level of experience and salary expectation of the selected candidate.
