We are looking for a in-house Company Solicitor - procurement and commercial contracts, to join our client in Northern England. Our client, a leading organisation in the home building industry, is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to manage a varied workload of non-contentious matters for their Procurement, Technical, Construction, and Commercial Teams.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Managing supply contracts for goods and services, contracts for the supply and fix of goods, contracts for the hire of plant and machinery, appointments for professionals and contractors, warranties, novation agreements, variations, NDAs, and associated documentation.
Ensuring compliance with statutory duties and drafting and amending contracts.
Providing advice and drafting procurement documents, as well as negotiating with third parties.
Assessing commercial risk in contracts and liaising with the Group insurers and Group Litigation Solicitor when necessary.
Delivering training to procurement and other teams, supporting the development of new ways of working within the procurement team.
In addition, you will be:
Reporting, communicating, and attending meetings with the Directors of the regional Operational Companies and the relevant teams.
Attending meetings in other offices as required.
Promoting and supporting the development of new ways of working within the procurement team and other Group functions.
To excel in this role, you should have experience in commercial contracts and procurement, and a strong understanding of statutory duties and compliance. You should also possess excellent drafting and negotiation skills, along with the ability to assess commercial risk.
