Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel (Part-Time)
Location: Fully Remote and occasional on-site meetings (Location flexible within the UK)
Hours: Part-Time (2.5 days per week / flexible hours)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, pro rata

LHH are working with a leading UK charity providing specialist support for individuals living with acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, and complex needs. Their mission is to transform lives by improving independence and quality of life. Through a person-centred approach this organisation delivers care, rehabilitation, and support services across the country.



The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel on a part-time basis to lead and advise on all aspects of commercial contracting across the organisation. This role is vital in supporting our operational teams, safeguarding the Charity's legal interests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Senior Legal Counsel role will report into the General Counsel and be part of a small legal team.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnership arrangements, service-level agreements, and consultancy contracts.


  • Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and other senior stakeholders on contractual matters, risk management, and legal compliance.


  • Support the procurement process, ensuring contracts align with the Charity's policies and strategic objectives.


  • Develop and maintain standardised contract templates and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.


  • Advise on contractual disputes, mitigations, and resolution strategies.


  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Charity and commercial contracting, and update internal policies accordingly.

  • Advising on ad-hoc employement matters

  • Collaborate with external legal advisers as required.


Essential Skills & Experience:



  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate.


  • Minimum of 8+ years' post-qualification experience, with a strong background in commercial contracts.


  • A team player with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.


  • Ability to balance legal risk with organisational needs in a pragmatic, solutions-focused manner.


  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Desirable:



  • Experience advising, procurement law, or public sector contracts.


  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks affecting charities and healthcare providers.
