Our client, a leading National law firm, is currently seeking a Healthcare Disputes Associate to join their award-winning healthcare team. As part of this dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside respected L500 & Chambers ranked partners. The role can be based from either the firms Manchester or Leeds officer depending on your location.
Responsibilities:
- Handling a diverse range of patient matters and public law work, many of which may be life and death matters or headline news at a local or national level.
- Managing complex issues related to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Best Interests and Court of Protection cases, Mental Health Act 1983, NHS Continuing Care/Responsible Commissioner issues, Priorities/exceptional funding, Governance, Incident investigation, and the Care Act.
- Collaborating with a team of talented professionals to provide exceptional service to clients nationwide.
- Occasional travel to meet client needs.
Requirements:
- NQ - 4 years' qualified solicitor or equivalent experience.
- Solid knowledge of Information Governance law and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to build relationships with clients, potential clients, and witnesses.
- Good research and negotiating skills.
- Competent analytical skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and team working.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills, as this role involves handling various people issues.
- Current knowledge and understanding of the National Health Service, and the duties of doctors and other clinical professionals.
