Part Time Buyer

A manufacturing company in Acton, MA is partnering with LHH to hire a temporary Part Time Buyer for around 8 to 12 months. This role is fully in office. The hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The qualified candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a related role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze supply/demand to determine business requirements
  • Ensure a continuous supply of materials to support production and sales
  • Work to resolve materials issues while achieving and maintaining business metrics
  • Maintain a record of all transactions, deviations and modifications
  • Keep cost reduction/best value at the forefront of all activity
  • Proactively report product and material availability issues
  • Maintain, monitor Master Data; revise essential system planning data to ensure EPICOR system is effectively planning future requirements
  • Ensure effective inventory management: Inventory accuracy; Cycle count program; maintain inventory parameters; inventory reduction activities; monitor and prevent E&O; design, implement and maintain effective inventory processes and controls for issuing material to production.
  • Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in ERP
  • Proactively provide supply status and shipment tracking to North America
  • Coordinate with internal export control department to ensure the required international shipping and commercial documents are in place for all international shipments
  • Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment floor stock program and recommend changes, additions, removals as necessary
  • Provide materials input to all ECN approvals and execute all required materials transactions resulting from ECN dispositions. This includes changes in stock, changes in POs and changes in production jobs.
  • Manage MRB process, coordinating with the Director of Quality and Customer Service to properly and efficiently disposition and react to all non-conforming material
  • Complete special projects and assignments as requested
  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of Buyer/Planner experience
  • EPICOR system experience a plus
  • APICS certifications preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ISO 9000
