A Tax Specialist, who is passionate about guiding our clients through the intricacies of complex corporate tax regulations, minimize tax liabilities, and ensuring absolute tax compliance. This is a Contract To Hire position; candidates should be able to work in the Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities:


Tax Preparation and Filing:



  • Prepare and file various tax returns, such as individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.


  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.


  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax code changes and adapt tax preparation procedures accordingly.


Tax Research and Advisory:



  • Conduct in-depth tax research to stay informed about evolving tax laws and regulations.


  • Provide expert tax advice to clients, offering insights into tax planning strategies and compliance issues.


  • Collaborate with clients to develop personalized tax strategies that align with their financial goals.


Client Relations:



  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.


  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, addressing their tax concerns and providing guidance on optimizing their financial positions.


  • Assist clients in identifying tax-saving opportunities and implementing tax-efficient strategies.


Compliance and Reporting:



  • Monitor tax filing deadlines and ensure timely submissions to relevant tax authorities.


  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, supporting documentation, and tax workpapers.


  • Assist clients in responding to tax audits and inquiries when necessary.


Continuous Professional Development:



  • Stay current with industry trends, tax law changes, and best practices through ongoing professional development.


  • Pursue relevant certifications and training to enhance expertise in tax planning and compliance.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or EA certification preferred.


  • Proven experience in tax preparation, research, and advisory services.


  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.


  • Proficiency in tax software and financial accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, TurboTax, Intuit ProSeries Tax, or similar).


  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
