The Credentialing Coordinator oversees medical staff support functions as outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws and General Rules and Regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment in addressing non-routine medical staff and credentialing issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Process applications for appointment and reappointment.

  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of practitioner applications.

  • Identify and follow up on "red flag" items.

  • Prepare files for review and recommendation by the medical staff.

  • Manage expirations of licensures, permits, certifications, health records, annual dues, and application fees.

  • Ensure the accuracy of all collected information.

  • Provide administrative support to medical staff.

  • Facilitate medical staff department and committee meetings.

  • Prepare emergency on-call schedules and maintain bank account records.

  • Compose correspondence, reports, and forms as needed.

  • Generate queries and prepare credentialing/privileging reports.

  • Ensure the flow of information and action items for medical staff committees and the board of directors.

  • Develop and implement processes and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and government/insurance agency regulations and guidelines.

  • Advise providers, management, and administrators on compliance issues.

  • Manage continuing medical educational activities for physicians to comply with accreditation standards.

  • Assist with clinical privilege development and maintain the entity privileging database.

  • Make administrative/procedural decisions regarding urgent physician privileging matters impacting patient care.

  • Ensure the accuracy of system-wide processes and maintain data integrity.

  • Coordinate and participate in daily office management duties, including answering phones, handling incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, filing, information distribution, database management, Outlook calendar management,

  • Accurately maintain department records and confidential physician data and hospital correspondence.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in healthcare administration or related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical staff support and credentialing.

  • Proficiency in Publisher, credentialing software (MDStaff), and QuickBooks.

  • Current NAMSS Certification, preferred

  • Certified Provider Credential Specialist, Preferred

  • Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM



Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
