We’re seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in the water and wastewater sector across the Southeast. This is a client-facing, consultative sales role focused on expanding service-based solutions to municipalities, utilities, and related infrastructure partners. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of selling services (not just products), working with public-sector clients, and navigating long sales cycles tied to RFPs, proposals, and technical buying processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee

  • Prospect new business opportunities through outreach, events, and networking

  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers in municipal utilities and public works departments

  • Lead proposals, bids, and contract negotiations in partnership with technical teams

  • Identify customer needs and align them with service offerings that reduce risk, improve performance, and drive compliance

  • Maintain CRM tracking of sales pipeline, activity, and revenue goals

  • Collaborate with internal practice leaders and project delivery teams to ensure seamless client handoff

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience selling services or complex solutions to municipalities or public-sector clients

  • Experience in the water/wastewater, utilities, engineering, or infrastructure sectors preferred

  • Proven ability to manage a territory and grow revenue through long-cycle, relationship-driven sales

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, environmental science, or related field preferred

  • Willingness to travel up to 80% throughout the Southeast region

Ideal Candidate Traits:

  • Understands how to open new doors while maintaining key accounts

  • Comfortable working autonomously while representing a larger national team

  • Consultative and persistent — not transactional

  • Familiar with public bidding processes and how municipalities evaluate vendors



Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
