Category Manager – Logistics & Distribution

The Category Manager will be responsible for supporting the Distribution and Logistics categories in their management for the Company. They will develop multi-year category plan and strategies supporting the category vision across categories, short-term and long-term road map, and multi-year implementation plan.

Key Duties:

  • Input to ongoing development and maintenance of Category Standards including all pricing related aspects of Contract and Tender templates.
  • Own and maintain the Benchmarking and “Should-Cost” Process for Distribution & Logistics.
  • Lead annual review for Distribution and Logistics for corporate financial planning.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations on Sourcing Priorities by Category, by Segment in support of maintaining a Sourcing Pipeline on a +36 month horizon.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Sourcing Teams for RFP/Tenders and Direct Negotiations.
  • Provide insights to drive value creation for the Company as well as enable tracking of category / market.
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders and the Director of Logistics to understand operational considerations and identify business or category demand requirements.
  • Lead the Category team in the development of supplier relationships with strategic providers to include data review and analysis, performance management, development, and improvement of end-to-end value and bring innovation to the business.
  • Monthly tracking of Site Budget, Operational Cost, Vendor Score Card and Optimization Projects.
  • Track KPI’s for recording the success and quality of your vendors. Orchestrate QBR’s with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Be part of multiple cross-functional category teams executing major initiatives and maximizing value across end-to-end supply chain/procurement activities.
  • Required Minimum Education, experience, and skills:

  • BA/BS Degree in Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain
  • Minimum 5 years of experience multi-disciplined procurement roles.
  • Highly proficient in Excel/Knowledge and Sourcing Tools.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification preferred.
