Procurement Manager: Raw Materials and Ingredients in Baltimore, Maryland

LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for qualified procurement professionals with experience in contract and vendor negotiation to lead the buying of Raw Materials and Ingredients. Applicants must have at least 5 years of procurement and sourcing experience and FDA compliance experience is a plus.

Job Duties

Maintaining effective communication and relationships with manufacturing sites, suppliers, and global stakeholders.

Strategic sourcing of specific products relating to raw materials and ingredients and creating and executing cost reduction strategies on such products.

Risk reduction through planning with qualified secondary suppliers.

Support business reviews which report on supplier cost-effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, delivery performance, technical support, and continuous improvement.

Monitor the market to identify the most cost-effective strategies for purchasing raw materials and ingredients. Inform other divisions of supplier innovations.

Improve procurement systems and processes.

Ensure compliance with the FDA by adhering to cGMP from a procurement position. Ensure import compliance when needed. Ensure trade compliance by collaborating with the logistics department when needed.

Lead improvement initiatives to ensure strategic procurement goals are met.

Support and involve team members in implementing SQF improvements and drive the team to meet sustainability and sourcing goals. Support supplier audits to ensure their capacity to meet future business demands.

Qualification Requirements

BS / BA in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees are preferred.

At least 5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in raw materials and ingredients.

Must have prior experience in manufacturing of raw materials.

Experience with commodity hedging, raw material management, and ingredient categories.

Success in procurement strategy and execution, supplier management, contract negotiations, and manufacturing operations.

Demonstrated success in procurement and vendor negotiations.
