We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join a team near Beechwood, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, experience with general ledger functions, and a proactive approach to financial reporting and reconciliation. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger entries

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements

• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis

• Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and procedures

• Collaborate with internal departments for accurate financial reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of accounting experience (public or private sector)

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)

• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or working toward CPA certification

• Experience with inventory accounting or cost accounting

• Familiarity with payroll processing or tax reporting
