Business Affairs Manager

A prominent, multi-national entertainment and media company is seeking a Business Affairs Manager to join their team. This is a full-time, hybrid, contract or contract-to-hire role located in Burbank, CA.

Responsibilities:

Serving as a liaison between the brand/partnership relationship team and the legal brand team

Will work closely with legal counsel in reviewing creative intellectual property materials

Advising the brand/partnership relationship team regarding creative intellectual property materials and ensuring compliance with regulations, polices, and IP laws, and escalating to legal counsel when needed

Drafting and negotiating commercial intellectual property agreements

Reviewing product requests and collaborating with legal counsel to determine limited rights

Documenting all documents and requests

Maintaining contracts and agreements database

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, brand campaign, business, sponsorships, or other relevant experience

Ability to assess risk

Knowledge of multi-media communication

Experienced in using Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work in fast-paced environment with bi-coastal time zones

Able to effectively work as a liaison between internal departments

Able to critically examine contractual rights and obligations of internal and 3^rd parties

Understanding of creative IP rights, use, and compliance including positioning, integration, and messaging

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

Paralegal certificate

Experience with music rights

Knowledge of SAG-AFTRA Talent Residual
