Document Control Specialist – Contract Opportunity
Location: Carlsbad, CA (On-site)
Schedule: M-F 8am to 5pm
Pay Rate: $23.52/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Document Control Specialist to support engineering and quality assurance teams by managing documentation processes in a GMP-regulated environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistency across engineering and quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Format and edit engineering documents in accordance with documentation standards.
Implement redline changes and ensure consistent use of templates and definitions.
Review documents for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and proper authorization.
Handle document filing, scanning, copying, and electronic distribution of released materials.
Maintain control over archived and historical documentation in compliance with established procedures.
Success Factors:
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong prioritization skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective multitasking and troubleshooting under minimal supervision.
Familiarity with good documentation practices (GDP).
Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate to meet shared goals.
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in document control or quality assurance.
Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 required; ISO 13485 preferred.
Previous experience in a GMP-regulated environment is a plus.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word (track changes, headers/footers, pagination, tables).
Prior involvement in processing engineering change orders.
Understanding of documentation control procedures including database management and revision tracking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Background in Life Sciences or Medical Device documentation is an asset.
Pay Details: $23.00 to $23.52 per hour
