HR Benefits and Compensation Specialist

LHH is seeking candidates for a direct hire HR Benefits and Compensation Specialist position in Charlotte, NC! The ideal candidate has 2+ years benefits experience within HR, exposure to compensation and payroll, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment!

Responsibilities:

Administer employee benefits programs including life, disability, health insurance, and retirement savings plans

Respond to employee benefits inquiries on enrollment, life events, status changes, claim issues, and other general questions

Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork including medical, personal, and FMLA

Conduct employee surveys and other research to collect accurate quotes from benefits providers

Communicate with benefits providers and vendors

Process employee compensation changes

Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll including commissions and bonuses

Update payroll for new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll wage and hour laws

Provide reports on benefits and payroll-related data

Qualifications:

2+ years benefits and compensation experience within HR

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements

Experience processing biweekly, multi-state payroll preferred

Proficient use of an HRIS/payroll software

Proficient use of Microsoft Office

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work on-site in the office
