Procurement & Supply Chain
This individual will source, negotiate, and purchase materials, products, and services to support our company's operational needs. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of market trends. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity near Chicago IL.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and purchase materials, products, and services in accordance with company standards and budgets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, quality products, and competitive pricing.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, evaluate pricing, and assess supplier capabilities, ensuring the company maintains a competitive edge.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage purchase orders to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Create and manage purchase orders, track order status, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure that purchased materials and products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, exploring alternative suppliers and negotiating better pricing.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and purchasing.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment and support company goals.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Understanding of inventory management principles.

- Monday-Friday Onsite
- Pay $30-$40 an hour, depending on experience
