Staff Accountant

Are you an entry level professional looking to gain more accounting experience? This is a direct hire opportunity that is onsite in Chicago. The clients are searching for Staff Accountant that will be responsible for month end, journal entries, and the backup for accounts receivable. To qualify, you must have your associates degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 months of accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

Enter daily warehouse receiving

Record cash receipts and disbursements

Record and apply transfers and customer checks

Call delinquent accounts regarding payment and maintain timely collections

Contact customers regarding billing and/or payment discrepancies

Research and investigate any discrepancies

Conduct monthly inventory checks

Assist with month-end close

Enter and review standard journal entries

Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation

Qualifications:

Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Detail Oriented

Ability to multi-task

Excellent communication skills

Salary:

$50,000
