Customer Service Representative (Manufacturing) – 1st Shift

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Pay: $21–$23/hour

Schedule: 1st Shift

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Cincinnati, OH to find a dedicated and experienced Customer Service Representative. This is a fantastic contract-to-hire opportunity for someone with a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service over the phone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by resolving issues and providing timely communication.

  • Handle order entry and maintenance for assigned accounts.

  • Monitor plant delivery schedules and resolve conflicts between requested and scheduled dates.

  • Communicate order confirmations, changes, and cancellations to customers and internal teams.

  • Escalate unresolved service issues to sales and operations, recommending corrective actions.

  • Review post-shipment orders for billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

  • Manage credits, return authorizations, and pallet returns.

  • Track inventory usage and flag items not aligning with plan.

  • Ensure customer complaints are resolved satisfactorily, escalating when needed.

  • Collaborate with Planners, Sales, Pricing, and Plant Management.

  • Prepare and distribute reports such as inventory, open orders, and shipment tracking.

  • Process plant claims including deductions for shortages or quality issues.

  • Maintain organized records of customer documentation and shipping paperwork.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

  • 1–3 years of customer service experience required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • CRM system experience is a plus.

  • Strong quantitative, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments including sales and plant operations.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
