Junior Staff Accountant (Cincinnati) LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant for a great client in the Cincinnati Ohio area. The Junior Accountant will support the finance department by performing daily accounting tasks, including processing payments, maintaining financial records, and assisting with audits. This role is ideal for an entry-level professional looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting and grow within the company. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $22 and $26/hr. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related accounting activities.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other financial filings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience, internships included.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
