LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a temporary Precertification Specialist in the Cincinnati, OH area, with the possibility of being hired on full-time. This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance, confirming benefits eligibility, performing authorization and pre-certifications, calculating and estimating patient liability, and collecting payments. The purpose of this role is to verify that the patient insurance information is accurate and up to date so payment will be received for services rendered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Medical Terminology courses or equivalent training
  • 2-3 years of healthcare customer service experience
  • Managed care or patient billing experience
  • Knowledge of insurance vocabulary and processes
  • Knowledge of government and non-government third party benefits and coverage rules
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with automated patient account systems or online verification systems
  • Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance
  • Confirm benefits eligibility
  • Perform authorization and pre-certification
  • Calculate and estimate patient liability
  • Discuss prior treatment with staff necessary to obtain authorization
  • Verify information is accurate and up to date so that payment may be received for services rendered
