LHH is currently seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant for a well-established firm in Dallas, TX. This position is 100% onsite for the first 90 days, and after turns hyrbid with 1 day a week remote. Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Excellent typing, proofreading, and editing of legal documents for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors, and completeness prior to distribution or filing
  • Maintain current knowledge on filing and service requirements and procedures in county, state, and federal courts, to timely and effectively file and serve documents with minimal to no oversight.
  • Draft standard pleadings, discovery, correspondence, memoranda and other documents
  • Maintain electronic calendars for assigned attorneys with close attention to deadlines
  • Routinely review and follow-up on client deadlines and calendar appointments
  • Electronically file documents in the court systems with both state and federal courts
  • Coordinate and make necessary arrangements for meetings (i.e., depositions, mediations, interviews, and vendor and facility reservations)
  • Review discovery requests and responses, prepare response shells as needed, review client documents for production
  • Assist with outgoing communication: formatting, proofing, finalizing
  • Organize and maintain case files and other filings – both hardcopy and electronic
  • Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience minimum as a legal assistant or paralegal in a heavy litigation firm
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate, preferred but those with a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with commensurate years of experience in the field will also be considered
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with filing and e-filing in state and federal courts
  • Strong computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Document Management Systems, Time Entry, e-Filing and database software
