Position Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with audits, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts.
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts monthly.
Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate monthly depreciation.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations.
Assist with audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting or industry experience preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP); experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Oracle is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Attributes
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
Experience with multi-entity accounting or consolidations.
Familiarity with audit preparation and financial reporting packages.
Pay Details: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour
