Location: Downtown Denver, CO Salary: $65K - $85K Schedule: Flexible with Hybrid Opportunities


Role Overview:

The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in managing full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping tasks for our client’s investment firm. This role requires at least 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in the financial services or investment sector. Exposure to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be considered a plus.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Bookkeeping: Oversee the accounting tasks for several small operating entities using QuickBooks, including handling bill payments, executing the monthly financial close, and managing cash flow. Prepare monthly invoices for inter-company charges and review payroll entries, providing backup support for payroll processing.


  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the development of monthly cash forecasts for various family trusts and operating entities. Analyze monthly cash flow reports and compare them to forecasts to identify discrepancies.


  • Market Valuation: Assist in generating quarterly market valuation reports for all investments managed by the company. Work with third-party accounting firms to update market value adjustments as necessary.


  • Cash Management and Liquidity: Track cash positions for all managed entities and assist with liquidity reporting on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure optimal cash management.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping, preferably in an investment firm.


  • Proficient in QuickBooks; knowledge of Sage is advantageous.


  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.


  • Experience with financial planning and analysis is a plus.


  • Ability to work effectively with a small, close-knit team.


  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
