Assistant Controller

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with our Transportation and Logistics client in Union County, NJ that is hiring an Assistant Controller. This role is onsite 5 days per week and will report to the Controller of a growing national transportation company. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable working in a privately, family-owned company with a blended background in public accounting and corporate. The ERP system desired is SAGE Intacct and this is an all-encompassing role including, accounting finance, taxation, and ERP maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for ASC 606 Revenue Recognition based on customer contracts

Oversee month end close

Heavy financial analysis to determine variances and suggestions for growth

Development of internal control processes and accounting policies and procedures

Management of all capital

Tax preparation and filing of corporate returns

Interacting with multiple vendors and maintain financially sound business partnerships

Treasury management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

CPA or MBA preferred

Blend of public accounting experience preferred

7+ years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller blend

Sage Intacct experience required

ASC 606 revenue recognition required

Transportation and logistics industry experience a plus

Compensation

$135,000+
