LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Project for a contract-t0-hite role in Elk Grove, CA. This role is critical in supporting our project management and finance teams by ensuring the accurate and timely tracking of project-related financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, a keen eye for detail, and hands-on experience with Sage accounting software (Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, or Sage Intacct preferred).

PLEASE NOTE: All duties for this role are performed at the client’s office in Elk Grove, California. This is not a remote role and relocation expenses are not paid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, track, and report financial performance for multiple projects

  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports

  • Perform job cost analysis and track actual costs vs. budget

  • Review and process project-related invoices and change orders

  • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and resolve discrepancies

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, billing schedules, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain accurate project records in Sage software

  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and reporting

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in audit preparation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of 3 years of project accounting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or similar industries

  • Proficient in Sage software (Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, or Sage Intacct)

  • Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reports, and percent-complete accounting

  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with other accounting systems

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a construction or project-based environment

  • Knowledge of AIA billing and retainage processes

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal financial regulations
