LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a detail-oriented and experienced Project for a contract-t0-hite role in Elk Grove, CA. This role is critical in supporting our project management and finance teams by ensuring the accurate and timely tracking of project-related financial data. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, a keen eye for detail, and hands-on experience with Sage accounting software (Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, or Sage Intacct preferred).
PLEASE NOTE: All duties for this role are performed at the client’s office in Elk Grove, California. This is not a remote role and relocation expenses are not paid.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, track, and report financial performance for multiple projects
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
Perform job cost analysis and track actual costs vs. budget
Review and process project-related invoices and change orders
Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with contract terms, billing schedules, and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate project records in Sage software
Assist with month-end closing procedures and reporting
Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in audit preparation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of project accounting experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or similar industries
Proficient in Sage software (Sage 100 Contractor, Sage 300, or Sage Intacct)
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reports, and percent-complete accounting
Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with other accounting systems
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a construction or project-based environment
Knowledge of AIA billing and retainage processes
Familiarity with local, state, and federal financial regulations
