Job Title: Test Technician Lead
Job Summary: LHH is looking for a experienced Test Technician in Goldsboro, NC for 2nd or 3rd shift to conduct a variety of tests on equipment and manufactured parts to ensure they meet engineering standards, customer specifications, and IEEE standards. This role primarily involves testing 3-phase power step-down transformers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electrical tests to verify transformer controls and dielectric withstand and thermal capability.
Use VOMs and laptops to test circuit logic and instrument functionality.
Conduct impulse testing up to 1M V, Applied Potential testing >400kV, and 3-phase performance testing.
Follow blueprints, diagrams, and engineering specifications to set up and perform tests.
Interpret test data, identify technical problems, and write NCRs for quality issues.
Make necessary repairs on test equipment.
Perform test calculations and prepare electronic data.
Conduct various tests including Turns Test, Ratio and Polarity, DC Resistance, Impedance and Load Loss, and more.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety policies.
Tools and Machinery:
Hand tools, ladders, electrical measuring meters, mechanical measuring devices, and various computer-controlled test equipment.
Equipment includes impulse generator, Hi Pot, motor generator, power factor test kit, SFRA set, voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, ohmmeters, bridges, oscilloscopes, and wave analyzers.
General Requirements:
Ability to read electrical prints and technical requirements.
Safety mindset and ability to configure power supplies and troubleshoot electrical problems.
Arc flash training and adherence to safe electrical work practices.
Work under minimal supervision and perform tasks at various heights.
Education and Experience:
BSEE (or equivalent) with no experience, or an AA degree in the electrical field with some related experience, or a high school diploma/GED with specialized electrical training and three years of experience, or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of progressive experience in QA testing.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $64,000.00 per year
