Controller (Non-profit)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking to fill a Controller role for a reputable organization based in Greensboro. The ideal candidate will have non-profit industry experience and previous hands-on accounting leadership experience. Controller duties will include:

Hands on oversight of accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, fixed assets, gifts & endowments, forecasting, and tax compliance

Coordination of the annual audit with external auditing firm

Oversee the preparation and accurate reporting of all federal and state tax returns (Forms 990, 990T, and sales tax)

Oversee internal controls over financial reporting

Account for the receipt and expenditure of all funds and report operating results to external agencies

Effectively supervise and lead staff

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

A minimum of 3 years not-for-profit accounting experience

Management experience

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in complex accounting systems
