LHH is seeking an HR GENERALIST for a direct hire position in Houston, TX.

SUMMARY:

The HR GENERALIST is responsible for staffing and personnel management.

DUTIES:

  • Oversee recruitment of potential employees.
  • Manage interviews and finalize hiring of prospective staff members.
  • Ensure the completion of necessary personnel record forms as required by pharmacy policy and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Promote a positive work climate and team-building atmosphere within the pharmacy, encourage effective communication within the organization concerning human resources matters, and focus on staff retention.
  • Administer payroll, payroll tax withholding, and commission payments.
  • Administer health and benefits programs, including health insurance, 401k, and paid vacation.
  • Provide awards and incentives for staff members who demonstrate excellence and commitment.
  • Arrange for performance evaluation of each pharmacy staff member annually.
  • Ensure the completion of annual competency reviews for professional staff members.
  • Oversee record keeping so that all personnel records are accurate and complete and manage the flow of up-to-date personnel information between departments as needed.
  • Prepare personnel record audits as requested by supervisor and/or Performance Improvement Coordinator.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the department meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ‘’best practices’’ in all departmental activities.
  • Ensure the implementation of processes to measure, assess, and improve the performance of the Human Resources department.
  • Develop, review, and suggest changes to Human Resources policies and procedures as needed.
  • Provide reports on Human Resources activities when requested by supervisor.
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
  • Participate in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
  • Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
  • Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred
  • SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Paychex experience a big plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
  • EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of human resources experience
  • Knowledge of the specialized functions of human resources
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: direct hire

    COMPENSATION: $65,000 annually

    WORK HOURS: M-F, 8 am-5 pm
