SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

The Senior Design Engineer will design, test, implement, and evaluate electronic equipment for high temperature applications. Design solutions through troubleshooting, resulting in implementation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop analog and digital circuits for battery powered memory down hole logging tools

• Handle testing and qualification of electronics

• Manage troubleshooting to diagnose electronic and mechanical failures

• Responsible for making recommendations for design improvement

• Responsible for design and implementation:

  • Create Schematic and PCB layouts

  • Build prototypes for testing and component qualification

  • Assist in the development of firmware for tools

  • Develop any desktop software required for testing

  • Create documentation required for production and support

  • Design mechanical components

  • Responsible for the Project Management per design; estimating cost, sourcing materials, and developing timelines.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, required

• Minimum of 8 years' experience designing and testing analog and digital circuits

• Must be experienced working with embedded microcontrollers

• Must be experienced creating schematic and PCB Layouts

• Previous experience at designing, testing, and prototyping designs

• Must be able to work without supervision.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

• None required.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Knowledge of firmware and desktop software design

• Must have thorough knowledge of how to use electronic equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, etc.)

• Mechanical aptitude for designing and building prototypes a plus

• Must have good deductive reasoning skills

• Project management experience

• Good communication skills
