LHH has partnered with a reputable client in the Indianapolis area to identify an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team! Ideal candidates will offer 2+ years of experience in construction billing.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of construction billing practices (including AIA billing), and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate and submit accurate customer invoices, including AIA progress billings and time & material invoices.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts.
Apply customer payments and reconcile discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of all billing and collection activities.
Communicate with clients regarding billing issues and resolve disputes professionally.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure billing aligns with contract terms and project milestones.
Prepare monthly AR reports and assist with month-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with lien laws and manage lien waivers and notices as needed.
Assist with audits and provide documentation as requested.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Familiarity with AIA billing, lien waivers, and construction contracts.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar).
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
