Medical Billing Specialist

LHH is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in Indianapolis. The Billing Representative is responsible for claim submission, insurance follow up, denial management, taking incoming calls from patient’s and insurance payers.

Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Computer proficiency

Experience in Quickbooks

Understanding of medical billing is a plus

Responsibilities

Submit claims for reimbursement to insurance carriers

Follow up on unpaid claims and initiate claim status inquires with insurance payers

Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided

Work with patients to develop self- pay arrangement and payment plans

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of (and compliance with) Federal, State and local laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines as they pertain to reimbursement, collections, and compliance

Reviewing and updating any patient medical billing information

Work with billing team to ensure billing is done correctly and proficiently
