LHH Recruitment solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant for a food distribution company located in Jersey City, New Jersey. They will be primarily responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. Must be a self- starter and eager to learn! It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting and finance team. This is a a long term contract role, that is on site 5 days.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements
  • Responsible for the month end close
  • Complete variance analysis, and balance sheets/ profit and loss statements
  • work directly with marketing and other departments
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedules

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP's)
