Cost Accountant
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our clients finance team who is a leading player in the food industry, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within the food industry and will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with our production processes.
Location: Lisle, IL 60532 Compensation: $45.00 per hour“Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401k plan. Key Responsibilities:Daily Cost Analysis: Analyze production costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
Account Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain account reconciliations.
Journal Entries: Prepare and enter journal entries for monthly accruals, including private fleet, cheap accruals, warehouse outside cold storage, and inventory claims.
Profit and Cost Centers Review: Review profit and cost centers for month-end, identify abnormalities, and adjust or reclassify as needed.
Coding Review: Work with accounting and A/P to review coding and reclassify for corrections.
PO Review: Review open and aged POs.
Transaction Research: Research transactions inconsistent with trends, look for missing invoices, and validate for completeness.
Fixed Assets: Complete fixed asset counts or accruals.
GRIR Transactions: Clear GRIR transactions.
Support Tasks: Assist with other tasks and longer-term projects related to warehouse, transportation, procurement, or other supply chain areas.
KPI Tracking: Assist on KPI and management objective tracking and reporting.
Accounting Support: Provide accounting support when needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in the food industry.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
Certifications: CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Technical Skills: Experience in SAP ERP system and strong Excel skills.
