Accounting Specialist (Long Term Temporary)


We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist for a well-established Technology company in Santa Monica. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the financial operations of the company.


The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and analysis of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations. Additionally, this role will collaborate with accounting and finance leaders to identify, research, resolve, and communicate findings on accounting-related questions, and ensure the highest quality of accounting activities across entities.


This a long-term temporary position with the possibility of hire offering up to 3 days remote flexibility.


Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the compilation of weekly Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties


  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.


  • Enter company financial transactions into Oracle, verifying that all transactions are recorded accurately in the appropriate ledgers to successfully complete the posting process.


  • Assist with all aspects of the annual financial audit and initiate corrective actions when necessary.


  • Regularly collaborate with accounting and finance leaders to identify, research, resolve and communicate findings on accounting-related questions regarding business transactions and other non-routine matters.


  • Ensure the highest quality of accounting activities across entities: month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation, financial reporting, etc.


  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of executives.


  • Provide timely and quality support to other departments.


Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is highly preferred


  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience is preferred.


  • Experience working with financial accounting software (NetSuite, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.


  • Public company and/or IPO experience is a big plus.


  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.


  • Business-minded with superb communication skills.


  • Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-moving organization
