Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our dynamic team at our insurance company located in Media, PA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations and will play a key role in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting department and manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and initiatives.
Requirements:
- CPA certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in public accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and compliance.
- Proven track record of leadership and management in an accounting role.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements specific to the insurance sector.
