💼 Role: Senior Accountant

We’re working with a fast-growing company in Melville that’s seeking a sharp and adaptable Senior Accountant with a background in retail or consumer products. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s ready to take ownership of core accounting functions, contribute to process improvements, and grow into a leadership role as the company scales.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Prepare internal financial statements and management reports

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with variance analysis and financial modeling

• Collaborate with inventory and operations teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and margin reporting

• Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Assist with external audits and tax filings

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 4–6 years of accounting experience, ideally in a retail, wholesale, or consumer goods environment

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

• Experience with inventory accounting and ERP/POS systems is a plus

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage)

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

💰 Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 (commensurate with experience)

• Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus
