Human Resource Generalist

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist position is responsible for providing HR Services to our employees and management within the business. This position will use project management and communication skills in partnership with the HR Manager to deliver value-added HR programs, policies and services to management and employees to support the business objectives of the organization. This position will drive culture change to align with the Sabrosura Foods Mission, Vision, and Values. The role will touch on all areas of Human Resources with an emphasis on Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Recognition and Leave Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach to other positions in the business and within the department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manages talent acquisition from understanding what success is in each role, determines qualification criteria, creates recruiting strategy based on roles, handles screening and interviewing, employs talent retention techniques along with coordination of hiring and onboarding.

Development of positive employee relations and culture using our mission, vision and values as a guide through coaching, mentoring, and advising employees and managers regarding any employee related issues and administering corrective action when necessary.

Development of an employee recognition program that shows appreciation and acknowledgement for employees for their contributions to the business to provide a sense of belonging, accomplishment, and fulfillment.

Ability to learn and use HRIS to administer company policies/procedures while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.

Utilizes a high level of confidentiality in all employee-related matters including employee relations, organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.

Interpreting, assisting, and advising employees and managers along with working with our third-party vendor regarding leave management, accommodations to comply with HR policies and procedures.

Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Conduct investigations into concerns or complaints of employee misconduct.

Assist in the administration of the salary and performance appraisal programs including reporting and follow-up with supervisors.

Process paperwork requests and communicate with government agencies such as state unemployment offices, DOL, etc.

Follows all safety and GMP guidelines.

Additional HR projects as assigned.

HRIS experience preferred with ability to learn quickly.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or relevant work experience.

1 to 3 years - manufacturing experience preferred; food manufacturing highly desirable

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

Bilingual highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Walk production floor at times: wet, warm environment with food manufacturing equipment.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
