LHH is partnering with an alcoholic beverage company to recruit their next Accounting and HR Manager. 4 days in office, downtown Manhattan for a 20M organization. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong accounting background and a hands-on approach to managing both finance and people operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting

  • Oversee all accounting functions including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process; analyze and report on variances.
  • Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial statements and profit & loss reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Research and resolve complex accounting issues to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax filings, including industry-specific taxes.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements.

HR & Office Administration

  • Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and basic HR functions.
  • Oversee business licenses and brand registrations.
  • Serve as liaison with building management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Manage office supplies, expenses, and general administrative needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior accounting or similar role.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in finance and accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in preparing financial statements and managing general ledger functions.
  • Experience with Acumatica or similar accounting software.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to manage software implementations and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and managing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to leadership and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
