Sourcing Manager

LHH is working with our home décor client in Manhattan that is looking to hire a Sourcing Manager to their team.

The role is 5 days a week on site in the Midtown area, the salary range is 80K-95K, and the role is full time/direct hire so all medical, dental, vision benefits are provided by our client.

Requirements:

• 
  

  Minimum of 5 years Sourcing/Procurement experience within home décor, textile, apparel, or retail industries

• 
  

  Ability to commute and work on site 5 days a week in Manhattan

• 
  

  Strong Microsoft Excel experience (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups etc.)

*Ideally would like to see someone who has a basic understanding of Chinese/Mandarin language*

Job Description:

Overview: Support the VP of Global Sourcing in developing and executing sourcing strategies. Strong focus on vendor management, cost negotiation, and quality control. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure that design, production, and import processes are efficient and meet company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development:

• Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies and buy plans for overseas products.
• Provide input on sourcing policies to ensure aggressive and effective procurement.
• Develop bedding textiles for company clients/brands.
• Collaborate with the Production Team to evaluate and refine design concepts for bath products.
• Evaluate the feasibility of designs based on appearance, function, production costs, and methods.

Design and Trend Forecasting:

• Prepare and instruct design specification sheets for overseas vendors.
• Refine designs to align with customer specifications, production limitations, and design trends.
• Forecast textile and design trends related to color, technique, and style
• Research and apply new techniques for product development and to enhance technical specifications.

Vendor and Cost Management:

• Establish and negotiate cost pricing with vendors and factories to achieve targeted gross margins.
• Maintain and develop positive relationships with vendors to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.
• Ability to adapt to market changes effecting production cost.

Quality Control:

• Collaborate with QC Management to maintain and consistently meet quality control standards.
• Ensure all products adhere to the company’s quality expectations.

Import and Documentation

• Work with the Import Departments to ensure proper and timely documentation of shipments.
• Manage cost controls related to imports.
