LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Senior Corporate Accountant to join a growing real estate company in Ocean County, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for a public accounting professional, who is on the CPA track, and has hands-on experience servicing real estate clients, including REITs. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in real estate accounting, a detail-oriented mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of real estate assets, including REIT structures, consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
• Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and REIT-specific accounting standards.
• Collaborate with asset managers, property managers, and external auditors to support financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for assigned properties.
• Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and internal controls.
• Participate in year-end audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Currently working in public accounting with a focus on real estate clients.
• Actively pursuing CPA certification (CPA track).
• 3+ years of experience in real estate accounting, including exposure to REIT structures.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate-specific accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation:

$95,000-$115,000
