LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a VP of Accounting to oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization of a Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Portfolio. This role requires a CPA with a strong foundation in audit and assurance from a public accounting firm, as well as deep experience in the commercial and industrial real estate sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to process improvement and financial strategy. You must also have experience with REIT's and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls.
Oversee accounting operations across a diverse real estate portfolio, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all properties and entities.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Drive improvements in accounting processes, systems, and reporting to support business growth.
Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership and support decision-making.
Ensure accurate accounting for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease accounting.
Qualifications:
CPA required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree a plus.
15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
Strong foundation in audit and assurance from a public accounting firm.
Extensive experience in commercial and industrial real estate accounting.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Compensation:
$200,000 – $250,000
