LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a VP of Accounting to oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization of a Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Portfolio. This role requires a CPA with a strong foundation in audit and assurance from a public accounting firm, as well as deep experience in the commercial and industrial real estate sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to process improvement and financial strategy. You must also have experience with REIT's and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger, and internal controls.

  • Oversee accounting operations across a diverse real estate portfolio, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all properties and entities.

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

  • Drive improvements in accounting processes, systems, and reporting to support business growth.

  • Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership and support decision-making.

  • Ensure accurate accounting for real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease accounting.

Qualifications:

  • CPA required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree a plus.

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.

  • Strong foundation in audit and assurance from a public accounting firm.

  • Extensive experience in commercial and industrial real estate accounting.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Compensation:

$200,000 – $250,000
