LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a stable client in the Oklahoma City, OK area to fill a Controller position! This individual will lead our client's financial operations and administrative functions and ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in nonprofit finance, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for building scalable systems.

Hybrid work schedule of 2 to 3 days in office is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of internal and external financial reports with precision and timeliness.

  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit-specific accounting standards.

  • Partner with leadership to deliver financial insights that drive strategic decisions.

  • Lead cash flow forecasting and support organization-wide budgeting efforts.

  • Perform accounting services for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Review and authorize key financial agreements.

  • Maintain banking relationships.

  • Manage payroll operations.

  • Design and implement internal control systems to protect organizational assets and ensure data integrity.

  • Oversee tax compliance.

  • Coordinate annual audits and maintain audit readiness throughout the year.

  • Manage corporate governance tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.

  • Analytical thinker with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced settings with competing priorities.
