Director of Human Resources - Orlando

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Director of Human Resources for a building products company in Orlando, Florida. Ideal candidates will have at least seven years of expereince in HR leadership with a large company, experience working in a multi-state/multi-location HR department, and will have earned their Bachelor's degree. Overall: This is a strategic HR role that will be a critical part of growing the business.

Job Details:

Top 3 responsibilities: multi-state compliance, benefits administration, and ensuring payroll is running smoothly and employees are getting paid

Leads company’s compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Benefits Administration: Overseeing employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, retirement and life insurance plans, and disability programs. Negotiating rates with insurance vendors

Ability to sit down with CFO and draw up roadmap for HR in their first 1-2 weeks on the job; Will need to present priorities and have solutions on how to accomplish those goals

Succession planning

Guide management and employee actions by developing HR guidelines, communicating the guidelines, and enforcing organizational values

Establishes and maintains company records and reports; able to direct others in the organization and adherence to record-keeping guidelines

Maintains company organization charts and employee directory

Must be willing to step in when needed even if it’s outside of their job description

Education/experience:

Bachelor’s degree is a firm requirement, Master’s preferred

7 years’ minimum HR leadership experience in a large (300+ employee) multi-location, multi-state company

Previous experience integrating new companies/business units in multiple states

Experience in labor intensive (contracting, landscaping, etc.) multi-state, multi-location HR departments

Must be strategic, have practical views, and can communicate that information to the executives

Experience in building an HR department from the ground up

PHR/SPHR preferred

Multi-lingual candidate preferred (English, Spanish)

Travel – not required but will be encouraged to travel 3-4 weeks total throughout the year for integrating new business entities
