HR Generalist

LHH Recruitment is assisting with a search for a HR Generalist for a Higher Education Company in Overland Park, KS. You will be responsible for a number of HR support including recruiting, HRIS management, exit interviews/terminations and taking on various project. Our ideal would have at least 2 years of HR experience with exposure to a variety of HR functions. This is a contract position with the potential to go permanent for the right person. This position will be on-site, and pay is competitive based on experience. Read below for additional details!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with designing our benefit and retirement plans and manage our open enrollment process. You will manage the administration of our benefits, including reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefits. You will be the key contact for our various insurance carriers and fosters effective relations.
  • Create and/or review job descriptions. Oversee the continuous conversation and quarterly review process, including training and communication.
  • Administer our compensation programs. Participate in market surveys and custom benchmarking studies. Analyze results and trends to develop insights and ensure compensation offerings are competitive.
  • Design and implement HR training and career development programs.
  • Develop an ongoing approach to collecting employee insights. Conduct analysis, recommend, and implement initiatives to increase engagement.
  • Manage all HRIS records and partner with business leaders to ensure accuracy. Create and provide HR reports for management and provide insights as appropriate. Develop and maintain EEO-1 reports. Maintain other records, reports, and logs to comply with EEO regulations.
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures; prepare and maintain our employee handbook. Implement, communicate, and ensure compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations to mitigate risk and ensure all required filings are complete. Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance on employee relation issues.
  • Partner with our outside payroll specialist to validate the accuracy and timely payroll processing including applicable taxes.
  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR, ideally with exposure to a number of areas such as onboarding, training, HRIS management, benefits, employee engagement, performance management, compensation or payroll
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent work experience; high school diploma required
  • Knowledge of HR laws in various states, benefits administration, FMLA, and employee relations
  • Proficient Computer Skills in Microsoft Office, Recruitment systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Sound professional judgment and decision making in a high volume and deadline driven recruiting environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills – demonstrated attention to detail and thoroughness in a professional capacity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
