LHH Recruitment Solutions is fielding applications for a Category Manager in Owings Mills, MD. The Category Manager is responsible for supporting Distribution and Logistics divisions and poses opportunity for diverse problem solving and long-range planning, development, and implementation of strategies to fulfill company goals. This position is highly collaborative in nature and requires close communication with all stakeholders across the business. Experience and insight in Logistics and Supply Chain operations as well as understanding of consumer markets are crucial to succeeding in this position. Candidates must also possess strong leadership capabilities as well as demonstrate their ability to maintain clear and thoughtful communication with all stakeholders in the company’s entire supply chain and procurement activities.

Minimum Required Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Required Years of Related Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement roles: preferably in supply chain or logistics
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A broad understanding of logistical operations and practices and cure procurement areas of focus (strategic sourcing, spend management / pricing/ benchmarking, category management and supplier management).
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain / logistics industry providers.
  • Multi-country and multi sector experience is preferred with experience across geographies of various sizes and businesses.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills are required.
  • The ability to prioritize requests and propose cost effective / customer focused alternatives when necessary.
  • Proactive with the ability to show creativity and innovation in developing new approaches and resolving issues.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and facilitate coordination between a large matrixed and/or virtual teams.
  • Strong organization, highly numerate with a high attention to detail and project management.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills. Proficient in MS Excel/Knowledge and sourcing tools.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Change management and process / continuous improvement expertise.
  • Excellent presentation skills: Six Sigma or Lean Certification preferred.
