LHH Professional Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a Bergen County, New Jersey university in their search to hire an interim Director of Budgeting. The duration of this contract is estimated to last until April 2023. It will initially be on-site to provide training and will then offer the ability to work a hybrid schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, practices and systems related to the budgeting process for the University in collaboration with the Budget Director.
  • Provides analysis and recommendations related to the financial implications of collective bargaining agreements in consultation with Budget Director and the Office of Human Resources.
  • Maintains salary and non-salary budgets to ensure adequate use of resources
  • Develops financial, budget, and other related analyses and formulates findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of the annual budget request to the State.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of the annual spending plan including forecasting of salary expenditures.
  • Manages position assignments to ensure that all changes comply with established policies, budgets, and procedures.
  • Participates in training department personnel in financial matters and spreadsheet modeling.
  • Prepares and participates in specific financial analyses of special projects
  • Develops sound working relationships with University departments in dealing with budgetary matters.
  • Provides guidance and oversees the work of Budget staff on specific projects and deliverables as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, business or related field from an accredited University; MBA preferred
  • Five (5) years work experience working with data analysis
  • Ability to develop and execute projects from conceptualization to presentation of final results and their implications for University policy and effectiveness
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to formulate recommendations and conclusions from analysis of financial and other related data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint,etc).
