Job Description:
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Title: SEC Financial Reporting Leader
Compensation: Up to $115k base salary annually
Setting: Hybrid
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will:
- Oversee the preparation of both internal and external financial statements, ensuring alignment with federal regulations and internal policies.
- Support compliance efforts related to public company reporting requirements, including preparation of filings such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
- Assist with accounting for share-based compensation and related disclosures.
- Conduct research on complex accounting and reporting issues, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Coordinate with legal counsel, external service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Manage the administration of the company’s equity compensation plan in collaboration with internal teams and third-party administrators.
- Prepare cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Contribute to the month-end close process, including intercompany eliminations and investment accounting.
- Compile supporting documentation for the annual proxy statement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required; CPA certification required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an MBA is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
- Ability to perform accounting research and communicate findings effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with adaptability and a collaborative mindset.
