Job Description:


LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Claims and Insurance Consultant for a temporary, fully-remote assignment with our client in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a legal background and experience in claims management. In this role, you will oversee claims related to professional liability, automobile liability, general liability, employment practices, workers' compensation, and first-party property, ensuring they are managed in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. To be considered for this 5-month opportunity, candidates must reside in Oregon


Responsibilities:



  • Investigate and manage various claims, including employment practices, auto, general liability, property, and medical professional liability, collaborating with third-party administrators and consultants


  • Evaluate liability, set reserves, manage discovery, and negotiate settlements, ensuring all activities comply with relevant laws and regulations


  • Serve as the primary contact for insurance matters, including claims, policy renewals, insurance certificates, and coverage recommendations


  • Report on claim trends, communicate with the Executive Team, HR, and program divisions, and recommend policy changes as needed


  • Assist with license renewals, property tax exemptions, and maintaining the organization's archiving system


  • Support the Director of Enterprise Risk Management, including assistance with Risk Management Policies


  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and promptly report any breaches to the Compliance Department


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in claims and litigation management, including employment practices, general, auto, property, and medical malpractice


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Proficient in analyzing complex rules and regulations for effective problem-solving and claim evaluations


  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills


  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team


  • Strong planning, organization, and multi-tasking abilities


  • Efficient in using computer systems and databases, including data entry


  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
