Position Summary: As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization’s information systems. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cyber threats, risk management, and security technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage security policies, standards, and procedures.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential security risks.
Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents to detect and respond to potential threats.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security controls are in place and effective.
Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.
Assist in the development of disaster recovery and incident response plans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related roles.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint protection.
Proficiency in conducting security assessments and vulnerability management.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.
Employment type: Ongoing contract
Location: Onsite in Portland, OR
