Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: Onsite – Portland, OR
Compensation: $28–$35 per hour (DOE)
Duration: 3 month contract with great potential for permanent hire
About the Role:
LHH Recruitment is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Generalist to join our client's team onsite in Portland, OR. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting employees and organizational goals. The HR Generalist will play a key role in managing payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries
Benefits Administration:
- Coordinate open enrollment and benefits communication
- Serve as the primary contact for benefits-related questions
- Liaise with benefits providers and ensure accurate enrollment and billing
Employee Relations:
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues professionally
- Support performance management and disciplinary processes
General HR Support:
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes
- Support compliance with labor laws and internal policies
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
- Experience processing payroll is required
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (Oregon-specific knowledge a plus)
- Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Pay Details: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
